Brussels Beer Capital of the World - Preliminary Needs Assessment
Location: Brussels Area: N/A Completion: 2011 Cost: €N/A
RKD was commissioned by Brussels Beer Capital of the World vzw-asbl-foundation to produce a 'preliminary needs assessment' to inform the initial feasibility of a beerrelated visitor centre in Brussels.
The 200-page trilingual report leverages RKD's expertise of designing and developing Dublin's Guinness Storehouse (which successfully achieved its target of becoming the #1 visitor attraction in Ireland), as well as the invaluable lessons learned during our continued involvement with the Storehouse as its major role within the city of Dublin continues to evolve.
This 'Storehouse approach' is then compared and contrasted with several similar facilities in other European cities.
In order to apply this information to the context of Brussels, RKD conducted extensive research to gather data on the city's tourism, visitor trends, geographic and miscellaneous factors. The resulting document presents an unbiased, fact-based assessment that will underpin future, more detailed feasibility studies.
